Hi friends, hope you had a great time celebrating Valentine’s Day with your loved ones yesterday. Today, I would like to share another outfit which I wore during my recent Cebu holiday. It’s a taupe shirt-dress and it’s currently the only one in my closet. I acquired this during a trip to KL with close gal friends last year. Loved the studded detailing and its subtle sheen, which adds to the luxe factor.
The shirt-dress is very versatile as there are many ways to wear it. Here are some styling ideas for you to consider if you like the comfort and ease of wearing a shirt-dress :-
- Wear it on its own without waist definition. You probably see ladies doing this a lot when you go to the beach. If your shirt-dress is made of cotton or linen, it can double up as a kaftan to be worn over your swimsuit when you are chilling out by the beach. This look will work best on slimmer ladies as it tends to add bulk.
- Wear it on its own with a belt or a sash at the hips, like how I am wearing it. This look will work best for ladies who have their legs longer than torso as the drop-waisted look tends to make a person look shorter and stockier. Of course, if you love this look, experiment with higher heels and it may potentially still work.
- Wear it on its own with a belt at the waist. This will work best for curvy ladies who have well-defined waistlines.
- Wear it as a tunic over skinny jeans or leggings. This will work for most figure types and proportion is key here to make the outfit look good.
That’s it for now! Pls feel free to comment and share other styling ideas that you have!
As my shirt-dress is in a neutral colour, I find that having some accessories do make the outfit more visually interesting.
I picked my accessories in the silver-grey tones so as to keep all metals in similar colour family.
omg! love this outfit!
Tks for liking it!!
