Hi friends, prints continue to grace the runways for this season, maybe time for you to get your hands on one? It is said that for every five or six clothing items in your wardrobe, you can have one printed piece to add spice to your wardrobe. You will probably notice that most would pair a printed item with a solid one. This is a safe option and will work perfectly fine. However, if you would like to get more mileage from your printed item and add pizazz to your outfit, try styling it with another printed item.
Now, the question is : Can two prints work together? The answer is a resounding Yes! For them to work well together, there are two basic rules. Firstly, there should be a common theme pulling both prints together so that they look related. I find it easiest to start by identifying a common colour between the two. You would notice that dark chocolate brown is the common “link” between my dress and envelope clutch. Secondly, the scale of the two prints should be significantly different so that they look pleasing together. Hence, I have chosen to pair the subtle snake print of my envelope clutch with the bolder equestrian print dress. When styling your outfit, if you find that your eyes are confused and there is a tendency to jump from one print to another, it means that the scale of your prints is likely to be too similar and you need to change one of the items. Finally, have fun experimenting with your prints and thank you for reading!
